Wood Roots Construction is a general contractor and custom builder located in Whitefish, Montana and doing work across the Flathead Valley. The Wood Roots Team has been building in the Valley for over eight years and has been building around the country for more than 25 combined years. Wood Roots is well known and respected by the local subcontractor community. Meet the Team
Boon Schmieder
Boon comes to Woods Roots Construction with his Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from Ferris State University and has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2009. His construction management career starts in 2006 with commercial high rise building in Chicago. In 2009 Boon moved to Washington state to manage military building projects including high security office buildings, army barracks, and maintenance facilities for M1 Abrams Tanks.
Boon moved to Whitefish in 2014 chasing the snow and began building custom condo buildings, homes, and remodels. This is where Boon and Wilson met and created Wood Roots Construction in 2018.
Boon and His pup live in Whitefish and love the vast outdoor recreation that the Flathead Valley has to offer. If you can’t find Boon start your search by looking in the mountains!
Boon has also never built a wooden sword but is hoping one day Wilson will teach him his trade…
Wilson Mattingly
Wilson is a true Montana local, born and raised in Choteau Montana. He has been building since he started walking and has more hands on building experience than your grandpa! Wilson’s building started by making wooden swords in his dad’s shop at the age of 7. Throughout his youth, Wilson worked summers on custom homes in nearly every trade. Wilson has been building full time since 2002 and has worked in multiple countries and on some of the finest homes the Flathead Valley has to offer.
Wilson enjoys everything the outdoors has to offer and is an accomplished hunter and fisherman. He enjoys rafting and skiing with is wife and three children.
